California baby…
Sometimes you just have to follow your gut feeling and go for it. That’s exactly what I did a couple of weeks ago when I booked the flight to San Francisco and LA. So here I am , having a coffee on Chestnut Street, San Francisco, while writing this. I’m here to meet up with some people to write with, get in contact with and to make music with. The opportunity came to go here and I needed little time to think it over.
Before I left, I had the pleasure to rehearse with the Metropole Orchestra for the gig on October 12 in Carré with Jonathan Jeremiah. That was the first time ever with such a big orchestra and it kicked ass!! If you have time, do drop by for that gig, ’cause it’s gonna be great!
And then, after a long flight, I arrived here, rented the most ugly car you can imagine (it’s greener than Kermit…) and drove to down town San Francisco. I took a shower and went out to grab something to eat. I found a place which was fine and had my steak at the bar with a beer, while ESPN was showing the football game between Louisiana University and Mississippi State. I felt a bit like being in a movie. Almost every movie I know has a “bar scene”, where a lonely someone orders a drink for another lonely someone on the other end of the bar. Usually a guy and an extremely good looking girl. And the other person either accepts the offer or refuses it, depending on the movie. Now I’ll tell you a little secret. This never happens in real life. But it was a nice fantasy. I just like it here…
Tomorrow me and my little Shreck will head for LA, city of angels they say. Let’s see what will happen there…
